Darla was a "spent" dairy cow who had outlived her usefulness to the dairy industry. We rescued her from the livestock auction cull pen where she was surrounded by dozens of sick and injured cows. Darla was also sick with a painful infection in her udder from a simple injury that had been denied medical care. After three weeks of fighting to survive at Oregon State University, and a very brief stay with her family at Odd Man Inn, she died in our arms. Because of our work to help give Darla a voice while she was alive, she remains a dignified ambassador for her kind. Her story is an inspiration in the fight for animal rights and equality. Please watch and share her video below. Use YOUR voice to fight #ForalltheDarlas.
