In loving memory of...

Charlie

Leave a Note in Memory of Charlie

Charlie, a big, mature Tamworth, was one of the 159 pigs surrendered to us when we moved to Tennessee in 2021. He and his brother, Chester, were rescued together as babies, and were still pig-partners in the Solsbury Hill Neighborhood. Charlie was a giant teddy bear!

Caring for vulnerable animals who were selectively bred for what their bodies can produce means we have a lot of Sanctuary Babes who struggle as they age. Arthritis is a terrible thing for our pig friends. Charlie struggled with it pretty severely the last few months. We tried all the meds we could to help him, but arthritis wins every time.

We were sad to lose him, and we honor him by choosing to celebrate the fact that he lived his life here in peace and safety, with all of his needs met. Charlie will be missed by his brother, Chester, and all his friends on Solsbury Hill.
