Mama Peaches was a “breeder” in her past life. We have no idea how many times she had babies stripped from her side during that dark time of her life. Some people would have us believe that mother pigs are not interested in their children, but she escorted her entire last set of babies into the safety of sanctuary, and showcased what it REALLY looks like when a mother is allowed to care for her young. They were her very best friends until her final day.
Mama Peaches passed after a very long and happy six years in sanctuary. She was struggling pretty badly with her arthritis, and our team had been helping her manage that for quite some time. Each night, she slept right beside her children. Each day, she grazed happily with them. She loved them. They loved her. Saying goodbye was a difficult decision, as it always is, but we promised her we would watch over her children for as long as they need us. Her watch was done.
Mama Peaches is survived by her five beautiful children who absolutely adored her–Ichabod, Yoda, Flip, JennyLynn, and Siobhan.
See you on the other side, friend. We miss you.
