Priscilla, a Washington original, was dropped at a county animal shelter–the classic story of a potbelly who loses her family. The reasons are endless…divorce, moving, too big, too much work, can’t meet their needs, illness, buyer’s remorse. In Priscilla’s case, they left her in a shelter to figure it out. Pigs in shelters are TOUGH. The shelter is designed for dogs and cats…not sensitive prey animals with special needs like pigs. They reached out, and we said yes. HoootyDoo had never had a pig friend, and Priscilla seemed perfect.
Arthritis is a terrible thing for our pig friends. Priscilla struggled with it pretty severely the last few months. We tried all the meds we could to help her, but arthritis wins every time.
We were sad to lose her, and we honor her by choosing to celebrate the fact that she lived her life here in peace and safety, with all of her needs met.
