Legend has it that Abbey Christopher’s rescuers gave him two names because they were unsure of his gender. He was beloved by many neighborhoods of pigs, and was notoriously caught sleeping in different houses every day of the week. He would hang out with anyone who didn’t mind his constant snoring. He was a master creator of contraband swamps, and is personally responsible for most of the destruction of the pasture on that side of the property.
Abbey Christopher had been showing signs of illness and after evaluation at the University of Tennessee, we transported him to UPenn for further tests. We suspected cancer, and we were correct. It was widespread large cell lymphoma. He passed away surrounded by a team of kind, caring professionals.
Abbey Christopher was eleven years old. He was a big, gentle sweetheart who charmed everyone he met. He’s survived by his friends in the Feral Neighborhood, including Eli, Harlan, Jedediah, Jack, and Ennis. He was loved and will be missed by us all.
