Leave a legacy

A planned gift is one of the most impactful ways you can make a difference for farmed animals. Planned giving and estate planning might also allow you to save on taxes, receive income for life, and enjoy other financial benefits—all while helping to create remarkable change for these gentle beings, who are just as sensitive, friendly and special as our favorite cats and dogs.

Giving through your Estate

One of the simplest ways to make a gift to Odd Man Inn is to designate Odd Man Inn to receive your assets at the end of your lifetime. You can specify all or a percentage of the assets you want each beneficiary to receive. Often, it’s as easy as filling out a form.

Bequest Language:

“I give to Odd Man Inn Animal Refuge, a Tennessee corporation with its principal offices at PO Box 1328, Jamestown, TN, (the sum of $ ___ ) (all or ___ percent of my residual estate) to be used for its general purposes.”

Essential information for your attorney or estate planner

Legal Name: Odd Man Inn Animal Refuge
Address: PO Box 1328, Jamestown, TN 38556
Tax ID number: 81-0880635
Tax Status: Not-for-profit 501(c) (3) corporation

Giving through Beneficiary Designation

An alternative to a charitable bequest is to designate Odd Man Inn as the beneficiary of any of your financial assets. You can make Odd Man Inn a designated beneficiary of:

  • a life insurance policy
  • a retirement plan
  • savings bonds or mutual fund or commercial annuity contracts
  • a specific bank account
  • a specific investment account

This type of gift is simple because there is no need to modify your will or living trust. All you need to do is complete a beneficiary designation form with your plan administrator.
