Sideways was part of a criminal neglect and cruelty case in Washington State that was prosecuted and won in 2018. The entire family was starving while living in a mixture of filth and excrement. OMI partnered with Pasado’s Safe Haven to help bring every animal to safety that day, and the abusers were taken to trial and convicted. OMi brought eight pigs to safety that day, and they still live here with us in Tennessee today.
Sideways lives here with her siblings: Thug Muffin, Rambo, Riggle, Sweet Tea and Black Betty. All of them have the privilege of living with their parents, Jolene and Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man. Sideways earned her name because she escaped a very detailed quarantine plan on arrival to OMI from the rescue site. She was safely contained, and we laughed at how the best laid plan often goes sideways when pigs are involved!
