Description
This structure will function as the Headquarters for Animal Caregiving to get the remaining daily operations out of the Sketchy House. It has taken many strategic steps to remove our daily tasks from the old house on the property, and this one has been very important. It will allow us to finally start on the demolition of the Sketchy House and construction of a more appropriate medical “barn” for our animal residents.
Funding
The shell of our new Cantina is now in place! This milestone represents a significant step forward, thanks to the incredible support from our community. Through our First Annual HOA Presidential election held in March, we successfully raised $40K to fund this initial phase.
Now, we’re ready to transform this shell into a functional workspace for our dedicated team. To achieve this, we need to complete:
- Electrical installations
- Plumbing systems
- Simple interior finishes
The estimate to finish the rest of the project is an additional $40K. Your support will help us complete a MODEST interior so that our team can get moved into their new workspace.
Challenges
We faced MAJOR challenges in finding a licensed contractor who was available to complete the electrical, plumbing, and finish work inside of the Cantina. As of August 2024, we have finally hired a local licensed contractor who will begin work in the next few weeks.
