On the eve of our TENTH anniversary, we welcomed pig rescues number eleven and twelve for the year. Dudley, along with his companion, Cupcake, are former lab test pigs who recently found themselves in need of a soft landing because they’ve been living on a piece of property that can no longer house them, and the situation was becoming fairly dangerous. We’re grateful to be a rare resource that exists specifically for him.
A huge pig like this does NOT have many options for safe spaces to call home. Having been lucky enough to escape a lab situation was already a magic trick that required a ton of good fortune, but to find a sanctuary willing to accept a massive (and very hungry) Yorkshire is another very difficult ask. We receive requests continually, but we save spaces for dire emergencies in our very rural part of the world–just like this one.
Dudley is deserving of all the good things that life can possibly offer him–no different than you and me. He’s the reason we exist. He’s the motivation for our continual efforts to advocate and educate. He’s the heart of our mission to provide lifelong sanctuary care to vulnerable animals.
