Ennis has a nervous, shy nature that really makes you realize how serious it is to be born as a prey animal. His every move is cautious. He’s the “North Carolina Boy” with the most delicate facial features and the most trepidatious demeanor. The only way to approach him is with the utmost caution…and snacks. He lives in the Feral neighborhood with Big Boss Charity and a gaggle of his huge brothers. His favorite friends are Eli, Asher, Everett, and Harlan. His favorite treats are peppermints and apples.
The North Carolina Boys
The “North Carolina Boys” were a group of very rare survivors from the flooding of Hurricane Florence in 2018. When the Category 4 storm caused torrential rain and flooding, factory farmed pigs were locked in the barns to drown. These boys were swept out of their prisons by the flood waters, and eleven of them were sent to live here in Tennessee. Factory farmed males are typically slaughtered at 250-300 pounds, but our boys have been allowed to grow into their full maturity, which now has them all over 700 pounds. The largest of them is Eli, who is 960 pounds.
